Looking for a relevant inspection report that comments positively about outdoor learning and play can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Let us know if your school or setting has had a very good or excellent report where outdoor learning and play is considered a major strength and we will add a link to your report.
When looking at inspection reports, there's a few things to consider:
- The common themes and similarities between the reports.
- The nature and type of activities that are being commented upon.
- The references to teamwork and shared leadership between management, practitioners and children
- What is not being said. This may sound strange but often reading between the lines can tell you as much.
- How you can improve your own practice based upon these reports. Think about the ideas gained.
The best advice about preparing for an inspection is available on the Association for Head Teachers and Deputes in Scotland website.
